Patch 08-13
The sword your grandmother forged, waiting in the first chest of the road.
- A card now carries four sparks. One trained stat, one season or class or race, one small body flat, and the gear the party wore. The whole Crest / Boon / Echo catalogue is gone under it — effect crests, shop discounts, everything.
- A spark never tells you how much it gives. Slight, moderate, strong — and the number is never printed. Working out what a strong one is worth, across a lot of cards, is the point. They're named by their subject now, too:
HP,SPRING,WARRIOR. - NEW: your forge outlives the run. Masterwork an item, wear it at the seal, and it echoes gold onto the card. The line's brightest golden echo is then handed straight back to you — it arrives in the first chest of the next run, at battle 0, so you fight the whole road with it. Legendary heirlooms come home still forged, so a line keeps one forever. Epics come home ordinary and want the smith again.
- The smith's late visit is uncapped. Two free pieces early as always; after that he works as long as your gold and dust hold out.
- The sparks a run leaves behind get their own screen. They used to share a tap with the homecoming walk, so hurrying that walk along skipped the entire ceremony — stars unpopped, sparks just quietly already there.
One thing: every card sealed before today comes back with its heroes, gear, looks and names intact — and no sparks at all. There was no way to translate the old traits into the new four, so I didn't invent one
